This week marks the 40th Year of the Hampton Classic. This amazing Horse Show started out as a very local event, showcasing the horsemanship that's a big part of life in the Hamptons. Now it's become a major stop on the Show circuit for Jumpers. All week long the contests are held by bringing riders from as far away as Ireland to the rings, which are set up just outside Bridgehampton Village. For Jim and I, the Horse Show has been part of our lives out here ever since we first arrived. We do numerous decorations for the show including some of the jumps. But it's Grand Prix Sunday that's the biggest event of all. The Grand Prix is the culmination of the show. It's always packed with bold-faced names circulating in the tents set up alongside the course. The Bridgehampton Florist is responsible for the decor of many tables on which elaborate picnic lunches are served. Every year we also have a very special task: To decorate our own Hampton Classic Table. Jim and I are hard at work creating a look that honors the 40 Year Anniversary. What are we going to do to make this the most special tabletop of all time? Well, as you can see, I am preparing something extra special for the big event. But you'll have to wait to see the results in all their glory next week. Stay tuned. This is going to be big, very, very big.
