Horses and the Hamptons have a history that goes back over 75 years. The first Southampton Horse Show was held in the early 1900s and continued on for years. In 1977 The Hampton Classic incorporated The Southampton Horse Show. Since that time, The Classic has grown to be one of the largest Hunter/Jumper shows in America with more that 1400 horses competing annually in over 170 events. In 1982, the Classic moved to its permanent headquarters on 60 acres right down the road from our shop on Main Street on Snake Hollow Road in Bridgehampton and in 1986 Jim and I became a part of this terrific event which unofficially marks the end of the Season here on the East End.
This year, after many requests, guess who just popped up at The Classic?
The Bridgehampton Florist! You can hardly miss us as we’re right at the entrance to all the activity. We’ve put together a very special shop full of the things that make the Classic famous: Horse-themed items from Stationary to Statuary, bibelots that make horse lovers swoon and make perfect prizes to salute your Hampton Classic favorite riders. And of course, there’s plenty of what makes The Bridgehampton Florist famous….namely Flowers, of course, in pots and planters, and vases that make the perfect centerpieces on your Hampton Classic tables at the Show or at home. And we’ve assembled a wonderful collection of just-right gifts that will brighten anyone’s décor long after the Classic is over. These photos will give you some idea of what’s in store.
Stop by where our able assistant, Ms. Alexandra, pictured, and her happy band of Bridgehampton Floristers will take good care of you. We can’t wait to see you!
